These are times to be merry and to bring joy to those who need it most; for this reason, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, through its Department of Equality, Social Responsibility and Sustainability, is working to support social causes such as the one promoted by the "Sport goes to the neighbourhoods" initiative.

This initiative, launched, developed and run by the Sports Journalists' Association of Malaga throughout 2023, has enabled children admitted to the Oncology Unit of the Maternity and Children's Hospital Malaga to receive their Christmas presents early. These gifts included sports equipment and Spanish National Football Team kits, donated by the RFEF (Spanish Football Federation).

The federation continues redoubling its efforts to ensure that Spanish football contributes to the welfare of vulnerable groups, supporting them with various initiatives; and, among them, children such as those who have to spend this time of year in hospital receive, as is logical, special attention.

This Christmas plan, together with the Sports Journalists Association of Malaga, is another step in the continued support that the RFEF has given to the programme "El deporte va por barrios" (Sport goes to the neighbourhoods). This support has been centred around various donations of materials aimed at children and young people from different schools in the city of Malaga.
