The route to the semi-finals starts

Spain returned to training on Monday to prepare for the European Championship quarter-final showdown against hosts Germany.

With no time for celebration, only hours after returning to their Euro 2024 base camp, the national team returned to training on Monday with the memory of their brilliant victory against Georgia in Cologne still fresh in their minds.

From the Rhenish city to the southern city of Donaueschingen for an afternoon session of recovery exercises, which are also the first step towards being ready for Friday's quarter-final against Germany in Stutggart.

Coach Luis de la Fuente and his coaching staff arranged a separate session for the players who played the full ninety minutes against the Georgians and the rest of the squad, who have been training at the SV Aasen 1928 facilities.

At the gates of the training ground, dozens of fans once again turned up to show their affection and encouragement to the players, who reciprocated as usual by signing autographs and posing for photos with the national team supporters.

Spain will return to the pitch on Tuesday morning for the first of three remaining days of preparation in Donaueschingen before travelling to Stuttgart to play for a place in the semi-finals of the European Championships.
