The Royal Football Federation (RFEF) is preparing a project for the construction of a national stadium

The board of directors has presented its proposal to the general assembly for the purchase of land and the building of this infrastructure, which will combine sporting and administrative aspects.

This Tuesday the board of directors of the RFEF presented its idea to acquire land and build a national stadium that will also facilitate the administrative work of the Federation, to the general assembly. The president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, has detailed that the board's idea is for the national stadium to have a capacity of between 30,000 and 40,000 spectators, and to have offices, sports facilities, and administrative areas on land owned by the Federation.

It was Rubiales who made the announcement to the assembly and requested its approval: "We know that it is not legally necessary for the Assembly to pronounce on this, but we want to do it," Rubiales pointed out.

The announcement comes after presenting the annual accounts for 2022 to the assembly members and detailing the positive results of recent years. In the face of this financial situation, Luis Rubiales has stated, "We deserve to have assets," and he has reminded everyone that the land of the Ciudad del Fútbol does not belong to the RFEF as it is an administrative concession for 75 years.

Rubiales explained that in the current facilities, there is limited room for growth, both in terms of administrative space and other facilities for the increasing number of national teams in the past five years.

The project, as announced by the president of the RFEF, will be presented at the next assembly in December, and he has thanked the assembly for its support through assent to the board's proposal.
