The Royal Spanish Football Federation’s website to become more accessible
With its new accessibility tool, people with visual impairments, attention deficits, or limited digital skills will have access to the official RFEF website’s content.
Spanish football is committed to reaching everyone, and in line with this goal, the latest development will now enable any user to access the official Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) website with ease.
This has been made possible through the introduction of a new accessibility tool designed to enhance website navigation for people with accessibility issues. Individuals with partial or complete blindness, limited or no mobility in their hands and arms, or cognitive and intellectual disabilities will now be able to access news, official information, and other content on www.rfef.es without any difficulty.
Additionally, the navigation experience will now be more user-friendly for people with reading difficulties or limited digital skills, as the tool has been developed to improve the website’s usability for all visitors.
To access these features, users can simply click on the blue tab or link, which provides access to a range of navigation tools. The easy-to-use configuration system allows users to personalise the available aids according to their specific needs.
A simple configuration system tailored to individual needs
The new accessibility features available on the official RFEF website include a text-to-speech option that reads content aloud to users, making it possible to browse the site without needing to see the screen—particularly useful for individuals who have visual impairments.
Users can also navigate the site using voice commands, without the need to use their hands, benefiting those with paralysis or upper limb disabilities. Additionally, they can browse using any type of sound, without the need to speak clearly, or navigate using a keyboard instead of a mouse.
The website is also optimised for people with visual impairments, offering easy text formatting, adjustable content size, customisable contrast and colour combinations, a zoom tool, an enlarged cursor, and the option to switch to more readable fonts, including a special font for dyslexia. Users can also have content read out loud simply by hovering the mouse over the text or links.
This new tool, developed by the RFEF’s Department of Equality, Social Responsibility, and Sustainability, ensures that individuals with limited vision, dyslexia, colour blindness, attention deficits, and other conditions can fully access the content of the official RFEF website.
With this initiative, Spanish football takes another step towards inclusivity, reinforcing its commitment to making football more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
