The Spanish National Team awarded Best Team at the Marca Women's Sport Awards

The president of the RFEF Management Committee, Pedro Rocha, accompanied the players to receive the award during this afternoon's ceremony.

This afternoon, the Spanish National Women's Football Team was recognised as the Best Team during the awards ceremony at the Marca Awards for Women's Sport, brought to you by the aforementioned sports newspaper. To receive the award were Eva Navarro and Misa Rodríguez who were the representatives of the national team, accompanied by the president of the RFEF Management Commission, Pedro Rocha.

This award recognises the national team as the best team in women's sport during the 22/23 season, a year that ended in the best possible way for our players with them bring crowned World Champions in Australia and New Zealand at the World Cup 2023, which also boosted them to second place in the FIFA rankings.

Misa and Eva Navarro took to the stage at a ceremony taking place at the Espacio Rastro Madrid; and also present, together with the players and representing the Royal Spanish Football Federation, was Pedro Rocha, conveying the RFEF’s support to the world champions.

Misa said on stage that "it's hard to believe we’re world champions, I think it only really sinks in when you put on the national team shirt again and see the star stuck to the chest", she said. Eva Navarro, for her part, described the World Cup as "historic" and described the post-victory celebrations as "very beautiful".

The goalkeeper from the Canary Islands was also back up on stage again later to be recognised with the Zamora Award for best shot stopper (the second she has won), while Alba Redondo, also an international player, collected the Marca Pichichi award. Olatz Rivera was awarded the prize for the best referee.
