The Spanish National Team received by the King and the President of the Spanish Government
The Spanish national football team, winners of the European Championships, were received this afternoon at the Zarzuela Palace by HM King Felipe VI, and then travelled to the Moncloa Palace for an official reception of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
The meeting at La Zarzuela was scheduled for 18:30. Their Majesties, King Felipe VI and Queen Leticia, accompanied by their daughters, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, received the entire squad, coaching staff and delegation, led by the president of the RFEF, Pedro Rocha. In a meeting with a relaxed and very cordial atmosphere, team captain, Álvaro Morata, presented The Royals with a shirt bearing the number 4, the number of European Championships Spain has now won.
Afterwards, the buses carrying the squad headed to the Moncloa Palace. Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government, received the squad accompanied by the Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sport, María del Pilar Alegría Continente, and the President of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes. Álvaro Morata also presented Sánchez with a T-shirt with the number 4 as a souvenir of this fourth European Championships for the Spanish national team.
