The Spanish Women's Team will play against Norway and China in Ibiza

Luis Rubiales announced in Fitur the rivals of the team led by Jorge Vilda for the friendlies on April 6 and 11

Last October the agreement was announced between the RFEF, the Island Council of Ibiza and the city council of the capital of the Pitiusa whereby the Spanish Women's National Team will play two friendlies in April on the island; and this morning, in an act in Fitur, Luis Rubiales has revealed that Norway and the People's Republic of China will be the rivals that the national team will face.

The first of the games will take place on Thursday, April 6. On the green of the Palladium Can Misses stadium, Spain and Norway will face each other. The team led by Hege Riise occupies position number 13 in the FIFA ranking, where it has come to be in second place, so it promises to be a very serious rival for Jorge Vilda's players.

The second of the matches that will take place on the Ibizan fiefdom will be on April 11 with China as the opponent. Shui Qingxia's team is fourteenth in the world rankings.

These two commitments will serve so that, 37 years after its first game in the Balearic Islands, the Spanish Women's Team adds Ibiza to the list of places where it has played matches.

Norway and China will be the last challenges before the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in the summer. Spain, currently seventh in the FIFA ranking, faces a 2023 full of challenges and in February they will travel to Australia to compete in the Nations Cup, from the 13th to 22nd. There they will face the Czech Republic, Jamaica and the host, a demanding tournament that will help the players acclimatize to the conditions of that territory with a view to the World Cup.

Once the rivals have been revealed, it is the turn of the parliaments. Vicent Marí, president of the Consell, has recognized that the visit of the Women's Team is excellent news for the island: "There is always an excuse to travel to Ibiza and nothing better than to practice sports. The women's team will enjoy their stay there and Ibiza will be a talisman. Ibiza is committed to equality, to sustainability... The National Team will have their little paradise there and I'm sure it will be a great experience".

The mayor of Ibiza, Rafael Ruiz, endorsed his message: "It is the first senior team to come to our land. We are, in Ibiza, at our best moment. We have a great stadium, two natural grass pitches and in very good condition. Hopefully, as the president says, Ibiza brings luck. The National Team will be very good on our island and we will be able to offer a stadium of a very good level".

For his part, Luis Rubiales has emphasized the importance of these two commitments for the national team and has insisted on the importance of receiving so much love and interest: "We feel enormous affection from Ibiza and we see what they want us to be there. Everyone has agreed and Ibiza deserves that the Absolute Women's Selection is there. It is our obligation to make known everything that is done with a lot of work in places like Ibiza. We will play against Norway, one of the best, and against China. Hopefully we can play our part. I don't know if we're going to win the World Cup, the goal is to do our best, but we're going in with a lot of enthusiasm".
