This is how offside technology will work during the Supercopa
This pioneering tool will be used for the first time this week in a national competition
Twelve cameras will be installed under the roof of the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh during the Supercopa to put into effect the semi-automated technology for offside detection, a cutting-edge tool that will help referees and assistant referees in this exciting tournament.
Through the use of arbitration intelligence, all the data from each play related to the position of the ball and up to 29 parts of the footballers' bodies are processed in real time to determine if an action is punishable or not with offside.

The video assistant referee (VAR) is the one who receives the information in the VOR room and goes on to check it manually. Immediately afterwards, he informs the referee about the field of play so that he can apply the regulations as quickly and accurately as possible.
A breakthrough sponsored by FIFA, which was already used in the last World Cup and which the Spanish Supercopa is now launching, implemented by the RFEF Technical Committee of Referees to climb one more step on the road to excellence in its competitions.
