Training and accommodation infrastructure for the 2030 World Cup sub-host candidates are evaluated by various RFEF teams

In the coming weeks, RFEF teams will visit the training grounds and hotel facilities in the cities and provinces that are bidding to be sub-hosts for the 2030 World Cup, whose joint candidacy between Spain, Morocco and Portugal continues to focus on such technical aspects. The studies will be used to gather all the necessary data to propose the so-called Training Base Camps in the candidature dossier that will be sent to FIFA at the end of the first half of 2024.

Different technical criteria on the state of the training camps, facilities for the media and teams, hotel and accommodation facilities for official travelling parties and a long list of other issues will have to be assessed by these RFEF inspection teams. These teams are already working on the preparation of the appropriate evaluation criteria and are receiving specific training on what to look for.

These technical visits will take place during a specific timeframe, so that all the training venues visited can be seen in similar conditions (weather, state of use at this stage of the season, etc.) and thus allow for the most objective, impartial and fair assessment possible.

The corresponding investigations will also be carried out on the hotel and accommodation facilities that are necessary for a city to meet all the requirements established by FIFA to become a World Cup sub-host and secure the status of a Training Base Camp.

From all the proposed places that are finally accepted, the different competing teams will then be in charge of choosing their prefered option, a step that can only be taken once the groups that make up the tournament and the venues that correspond to each group have been decided.
