"These boys have made history, they will tell their children and grandchildren about it". This is how Santi Denia, Olympic coach, highlighted the importance of the national team entering the Ciudad del Fútbol with the gold medal around their necks.

The Luis Aragonés Hall hosted a well-deserved tribute to the players who beat France in the final of the tournament and, in it, Santi Denia, Olympic coach, Juan Miranda and Sergio Gómez, two of the national team’s captains, and Pablo Lozano, vice-president of the RFEF, assessed the milestone achieved 32 years since the last time Spain won an Olympic Football Gold medal.

When it was the turn of the captains, Juan Miranda and Sergio Gómez emphasised the strength of the group and the word ‘team’, stressing that "we have been a real family" and that "the unity of the group was what has made the difference"..

The event concluded, just before the group photo, with the comments of Pablo Lozano, who wanted to thank the work of all the people who have participated and supported the team in all its successes, stressing that "together we have managed to make this dream come true"..
