Unai Simón: “I don’t see the way we play as a risk”

The Spain goalkeeper, who has already faced Japan at the Olympic Games, announces that Spain's game will not change in the decisive match they will play on Thursday: "Few national teams can compare their game with ours".

Confidence: "Spain is getting better in possession and dominance. Few teams can compare with us in this aspect. Japanese national team will make it difficult, as we saw at the Olympics. They will press high because they need to score at least one goal".

Prudence: "The one considered the favourite is not usually the one who wins the World Cup. We don't feel like favourite ones, but we're confident in our idea and we're going to keep working on it as far as we can".

Style: "For me it's not a risk to play with my feet. This team can handle these situations. It's the idea that the coach wants, the one that convinces me and I feel comfortable with".

Present: "I think I'm in my best moment, but I try to keep learning because I'm still young and I'm having a positive increase with scope for improvement. We all have an evolution and now I feel comfortable and very confident".

"I think I'm in my best moment, but I'm trying to keep learning because I'm still young and I'm in progression with a lot of room for improvement. We all have an evolution and now I feel comfortable and very confident".

Past: "The match against Croatia at the European Championship taught me a lot and we'll see if I can find myself soon in another important match".

Spherical: "In the Nations League we play with different balls and I think it is an irrelevant fact. There are differences, but you will never hear me complain about this".

Teammates: "This team is different because we try to generate superiority from the defensive area. We are a block that acts as a team and we have to be focused to overcome the high pressure they will put on us".

Determination: "I understand the feeling of tension and this will increase as the qualifiers go on. It's the way this national team plays and I trust it. I don't see it as a risk because thanks to the way we play, we get to the top with better conditions".
