Unai Simón: "We make a fantastic group"

Unai Simón turns 27 this Tuesday, and he is celebrating his 27th birthday in the way he most enjoys because he is working hard along with the national team squad in order to be at his best for next Saturday's European Championships opener in Germany. The national team goalkeeper is sharing this special day with his teammates and, of course, he blew out some candles at the end of the meal.

"Thank you very much. I'm very proud to be here with you, really", said Simón to the rest of the group in the classic birthday boy's speech. He also summed up the team's feelings perfectly, complimenting the great atmosphere around the squad at their base camp and a group unified since arriving in Germany by their joint quest for Spain’s fourth European Championships success.

"I think we make a fantastic group and it is essential for us to win the European Championships. Let's enjoy these days, let's have a great time with each other and let's play great games because we players, with the ball, are really good, guys. Let's see if on 15 July we can celebrate winning this championship.
