Unai Simón wins his 50th cap for Spain

Unai Simón began writing glorious his story with the Spanish National Team on 11 November 2020. That day, at the Johan Cruyff Arena, the Basque goalkeeper had the opportunity to make his debut as a starter against the Netherlands in a friendly match that ended in a draw.
From that moment on, through effort and perseverance, the Vitoria-born player has nailed down the number one spot in Spanish colours, going on to win the 2024 European Championships and the 2023 Nations League, where his performance in the penalty shoot-out was decisive.
Now, with another continental final on the line, he earns his 50th cap—surpassing his idol Iribar and becoming the fourth most-capped goalkeeper in the history of the Spanish national team. Ahead of him: Arconada (68), Zubizarreta (126) and Iker Casillas (167).
CONGRATULATIONS UNAI!
