VAR technology for the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh explained

The director of the VAR Project for the Technical Committee of Referees, Carlos Clos Gómez, shows us what the VAR facilities are like in the stadium where the semi-finals and final of the Spanish Super Cup are to be played in Riyadh, showing us all the technical equipment needed to manage the video refereeing technology.

This edition of the Spanish Super Cup will once again feature semi-automatic offsides and also gives fans something new. For this year’s competition the audios of the conversations between the on-field referee and the VAR officials’ when the monitor reviews are used will be available to listen to once the matches have finished.

In addition, spectators following the match will have access to information on each VAR decision thanks to the VARdict technology that will explain the decisions made.
