This match began on 12 February in a school in Paiporta and ended with a thrilling comeback victory by the Spanish national team at a passionate Ciutat de València stadium.

In between, solidarity has become the theme with the slogan ‘Jugamos por vosotr@s’ (We Play For You) presiding over proceedings with a giant banner welcoming the players with the volunteers of the Levante UD Foundation acting as enthusiastic and efficient bearers of the message.

The list of municipalities affected by the disastrous floods that devastated the Valencian Community a few months ago was omnipresent during the first match of the year for the Spanish national team, whose players wore the commemorative T-shirt in the warm-up before thrilling the fans with their victory against the Belgians.

Fans were also able to show their solidarity by purchasing the T-shirt and wearing it in the stands of the stadium, where some very special players also made their presence felt.

These were the players from the clubs from the most affected areas, whose presence, thanks to the RFEF's solidarity initiative, added even more sparkle to the Spanish victory.

Goalkeeper Cristina Portillo of UD Aldaia CF, her teammates Mireia Alejandre and Ángela Forth, along with young Alba Zafrilla of Camporrobles CF - on her 12th birthday - had a great time cheering on the internationals as they gradually get their sporting lives back to normal after a few months of upheaval and forced displacement due to the state of the pitches.

All in all, it was a night to remember on this sporting and charitable Friday that kicked off a 2025 full of social initiatives by the RFEF in order to build back together and with the help of everyone a future of hope that can reach all members of the great family that is Spanish football.
