Xavi: "I hope this is the first of many titles"

The FC Barcelona coach highlighted how they achieved the victory against Real Madrid: "Everything went perfectly"

Xavi Hernández, FC Barcelona coach, was "very satisfied" when speaking with the media, not only for winning the Supercopa title, but especially for the way they won it "I'm really happy; I care a lot about how we win, and today it was extraordinary". "From here on, let's hope for more to come; I hope today's title is the first of many," he said. 

The coach stressed that everything went "perfectly" regarding the approach taken by the technical staff. "It gives a lot of peace of mind, morale and confidence, because the players see that the plan is working", he said. He also underlined that the first half, in his opinion, had been "extraordinary", the same adjective he used to describe the line-up players.

 

"We are proud of the way we played against Real Madrid", he added. In his opinion, it is something very positive morally. "A lot of players have freed themselves, and this gives us a lot of peace of mind and confidence", he reflected.

Xavi Hernández was asked about the youth of the players, and he pointed out: "We have a great generation and the hunger for titles was noticeable today". A generation among which Gavi stands out. He was voted Man Of The Match, and the coach spared no praise about him: "He is a player who moves us; at 18 years of age, he has that leadership ability, that courage... Don't let him slow down, this boy has no limits", he said.
