2025, here we come!
Montse Tomé's team have a full year ahead of them. One in which they will first play the qualifying phase for the Nations League and in July they face the greatest objective of 2025: the UEFA European Championships in Switzerland.
With the excitement of what is to come, the 23 players called up by the coach arrived at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas on Monday afternoon, 17 February. It is the first training camp of the year after closing 2024 with two brilliant victories against South Korea and France.
It is now time to begin the defence of their UEFA Women's Nations League title. Spain are in Group B, drawn alongside England, Belgium and Portugal, the Spanish players face the Belgians on Friday 21 February at the Ciutat de València at 18:45h (La 2, TVE) and then England on Wednesday 26 February at Wembley at 21:00h (La 2 TVE).
The national team, which closed the year as the second ranked team in the world and the first placed team from Europe, will also show its commitment to and solidarity with those affected by the floods by playing a match in Valencia, the proceeds of which will go to the victims of the natural disaster.
Montse Tomé, who travelled to the Ausiàs March school to announce the squad list, visited the areas most affected by the tragedy that devastated the area last October with her coaching staff. At the end of the week, they will return to Valencia to face Belgium, but before that, tomorrow, Tuesday 18 February, from 17:00h, they will hold an open training session at Las Rozas. Fans can come along to the stands of Pitch A at the Ciudad del Fútbol to watch the team go through their paces as they start preparing for the two demanding matches ahead of them in this international window.
