Speaking in the press room at La Rosaleda Stadium after her first match in charge of the national team, Sonia Bermúdez reflected: “Being a footballer is the best thing in the world — I enjoyed it immensely, and now, in this role, I’m enjoying it just as much. I’ll always remember two days in particular: my debut as a player, and today as a coach.”

That special day was October 24, 2025 — a Friday that will remain forever etched in her memory, not only for the sporting success, with a commanding 4–0 victory over Sweden that puts Spain a giant step closer to the UWNL final, but also for its professional and emotional significance.

It was a memorable occasion in Málaga, where the Madrid-born coach was surrounded by the support of her family and friends, who accompanied her on this unforgettable debut day.
