A Record-Breaking Spain

Discover Spain’s unbeaten runs in both competitive fixtures and all matches combined

The Spanish national team have gone 43 consecutive competitive matches without defeat, recording 36 wins and seven draws since their last loss, on 28 March 2023. This remarkable run of more than three years has seen Luis de la Fuente’s side lift the UEFA Nations League, the European Championship and the World Cup—three titles that have secured their place in football history.

But the national team’s achievements do not end there. Including friendly matches, Spain have gone 42 consecutive games unbeaten since 22 March 2024. This run has seen them surpass Italy’s previous Guinness World Record for the longest unbeaten streak, which stood at 37 matches. Spain claimed the record on the most special of stages: the World Cup final.

These two records reflect the extraordinary form of the Spanish national team and have propelled Spain to the top of the FIFA World Ranking.

The next challenge is to extend these historic runs in this month’s international fixtures against Czechia (Thursday 12 November at 20:45) and England (Sunday 15 November at 20:45).
