The football world will come to a standstill on January 11 as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid battle to be crowned the next Spanish Super Cup champions. The first title of the year will see the two giants face each other for the 263rd time in history — and the 20th time in a final.

In this 42nd edition of the Supercopa de España, FC Barcelona will look to defend their crown and lift a record-extending 16th title, while Real Madrid will aim for their 14th. All eyes will be on the Alinma Stadium as the stage for the occasion.

On the eve of El Clásico — and following their respective press conferences — Hansi Flick and Xabi Alonso took part in the traditional meeting between coaches, posing together with the trophy that will be contested this Sunday from 8:00 p.m. CET (10:00 p.m. local time in Saudi Arabia).

For the coach from San Sebastián, it could mark his first trophy as Real Madrid manager. For the German, who lifted his first silverware with Barça here in Saudi Arabia, it would be his fourth title since taking charge in the 2024/25 season.

Everything is set. Jeddah will crown the champion of 2026. 👑⚽
