Atlanta welcomes a Spain side dreaming big
Spain has touched down in Atlanta and, once again, has been greeted by the warm support of its fans. The national team departed its training base hotel in Chattanooga at 18:00 local time after a day that included a closed-door training session under the guidance of Luis de la Fuente at the Baylor School facilities, as well as a media appearance by David Raya at the team’s base camp.
After travelling nearly 200 kilometres by road, the Spanish delegation arrived in Atlanta, Georgia, where it will play its opening World Cup fixture against Cape Verde national football team on Monday, 15 June, at 12:00 local time.
The team’s schedule for Sunday, 14 June, includes the official pre-match training session, with the opening 15 minutes available to the media, at the facilities of Kennesaw State University at 10:30. Later in the day, De la Fuente will address the media during the official press conference at Atlanta Stadium at 15:45.
As has become customary since the start of the training camp, Spain received a warm welcome from supporters upon arriving in the capital of Georgia, further evidence of the enthusiasm and admiration the national team inspires wherever it goes.
