Casa España Fills New York with Hope: "Sunday Will Be a Very Happy Day for Our Country"
RFEF president Rafael Louzán officially opened Spain's fan hub in New York as supporters gather ahead of the FIFA World Cup Final.
The golden glow of the FIFA World Cup Trophy has captivated hundreds of Spain supporters who gathered in Midtown Manhattan for the opening of Casa España, just hours before La Roja face Argentina in the World Cup Final.
The event brought together the entire Spanish football family in a celebration of unity, with Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) president Rafael Louzán describing Sunday's final as "a historic occasion that will surely be a very happy day for Spain."
Louzán invited everyone present—and supporters watching from afar—to show their appreciation for the national team.
"Let's give the players and coaching staff a huge round of applause so they can hear us. They are one big family who, by tomorrow, will have spent 50 days together in camp, setting an example through their unity and delivering extraordinary results."
He continued:
"We're just hours away from a historic moment for our country. I'd like to thank everyone who represents Spanish football, all the RFEF staff, the media, and chef José Andrés for making this spectacular space at Mercado Little Spain available to us as the fifth and final Casa España of this World Cup."
Renowned chef José Andrés responded by praising the spirit surrounding the national team.
"The RFEF president has succeeded in bringing together the whole of Spanish football, turning this into a true celebration of Spain."
He also reflected on his own journey in the United States.
"I arrived here with nothing, aboard the Juan Sebastián Elcano, as an immigrant. To stand here today at Mercado Little Spain, beside 30th Street in New York, makes this moment even more meaningful."
As a tribute to the Spanish community in the United States and to the 26 players selected by Luis de la Fuente, an emotional video celebrating Spain's presence in New York provided the highlight of the opening ceremony.
Now, Casa España hopes to be filled with even greater joy on Sunday, as Spain bids to win a second FIFA World Cup star.
