Jesús Rodríguez: “We Have an Incredible Group”
Adaptation:
“In both call-ups my teammates have welcomed me in an exceptional, incredible way. During my first call-up, Álvaro Morata helped me a lot — he was a great support. He’ll keep working hard; he’s a captain and a true role model.”
Differences between Spain and Italy:
“It’s quite different from Spain. Here everything is more tactical and possession-based, while in Italy the game is more physical and defensive. But I think I’m adapting better little by little. The coaching staff is helping me a lot, and I hope to reach my best level soon.”
His debut:
“It took me a few days to really believe what I had achieved. I’m taking it calmly and staying focused. Now I just have to keep working hard to earn more opportunities.”
U-20 World Cup:
“I’m very happy about their qualification for the quarter-finals. It’s a spectacular team. I was with them when we won the U-19 European Championship, and I have great friends in that group. I wish them all the best.”
Lamine Yamal:
“He’s the player who has surprised me the most. On TV he does incredible things, but in training he’s even more impressive. He has an amazing future ahead of him, and I always try to learn from him to keep improving.”
The World Cup:
“We all have the World Cup in mind — it’s every child’s dream. We know this is a special season, but we need to keep working day by day. It would be something truly incredible.”
New challenges:
“I’m a bit shy, but here everything feels much easier. Everyone tries to help you. This group is truly incredible.”
