Los Angeles, Chapter Two
Back in Los Angeles, Spain has resumed training ahead of Friday's FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Belgium with a session held at Dignity Health Sports Park, home of the LA Galaxy in Carson. The California weather provided welcome relief, with temperatures around 27°C (81°F)—a significant drop from the intense heat the team experienced during its stay in Dallas.
Before taking to the pitch, the players spent time speaking with more than a hundred members of the media during an extended mixed-zone session. Afterwards, head coach Luis de la Fuente was able to work with all 26 players, all of whom were available and trained normally during a closed-door session lasting just over an hour.
The training programme featured circuit-based drills, technical and tactical work, and finishing exercises as Spain fine-tuned its preparations for the quarter-final against Belgium—a meeting that comes 40 years after the two nations last faced each other in a FIFA World Cup quarter-final.
The day's schedule concludes with Dani Olmo's press conference, where the Spain midfielder is set to address the media from 1:00 p.m. local time.
