Luis de la Fuente to Announce Squad for the Start of the UEFA Nations League on Friday 18 September

Luis de la Fuente will announce next Friday, 18 September, the squad selected for the first four fixtures of the group stage in the new edition of the UEFA Nations League. Spain will wear the two stars representing their status as two-time world champions for the first time following their 19 July victory over Argentina in the World Cup final in New Jersey, secured by a Ferran Torres goal.

Spain will begin their campaign against England at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 26 September. Their next two fixtures will be at home, against Croatia in Seville on Tuesday 29 September and against the Czech Republic in Oviedo on Saturday 3 October. The international window will conclude in Split against Croatia on Tuesday 6 October. All matches will kick off at 20:45 CET.

The Riojan coach will speak to the media from 12:30 at the José Villalonga Auditorium at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas. Before that, at 11:30, the squad selected for the international fixtures will be announced through the official channels of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The Spain Under-21 squad will also be announced on Friday. The team face three fixtures during this international window as they look to complete their qualification campaign for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. David Gordo will announce his squad at 12:00 and, as usual, will speak to the media after Luis de la Fuente’s press conference. The Under-21 side, top of their group with a perfect record of seven wins, will play away against Finland (Tampere, 25 September) and San Marino (Serravalle, 1 October), before hosting Romania (6 October) at Ibiza’s Can Misses Stadium.

The Spain senior national team’s training camp will begin on Tuesday 22 September at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas. The selected players will be due to report from 13:00 onwards.
