With the Luis Aragonés Hall at the Ciudad del Fútbol as witness, the twenty qualified territorial-category clubs learned their fate for the Preliminary Round — a stage to be played over two legs on September 27 (first leg) and October 4 (second leg).
Sergio León, current player of Atlético Palma del Río CF and formerly of Real Betis Balompié, Real Valladolid, CA Osasuna, and Elche CF, together with Manuel Regalado, president of Manises CF, acted as guest conductors of the draw, producing ten exciting pairings after the extraction of balls (distributed across four pots according to geographic proximity).
It is worth noting that the winners of this round will host a First Division opponent in the next stage of the competition.
