RFEF General Assembly approves a budget of over €400 million for 2026
Sponsorship growth and increased audiovisual revenues will together exceed €200 million, while financial assistance and subsidies for regional football associations will rise significantly.
The General Assembly of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has today approved the Federation’s budget for the 2026 financial year, amounting to €403.5 million, of which €38.9 million will be allocated to capital investment.
The main highlights of the 2026 budget are as follows:
On the revenue side, the budget includes projected income derived from the participation of the senior men’s national team in official competitions and international friendlies. In parallel, audiovisual rights will generate additional revenue through Spain’s participation in the FIFA World Cup.
The new model for the commercialisation of audiovisual rights for the Copa del Rey qualifying rounds, implemented under a delegated management framework, will result in an increase of more than €4 million in Federation revenues for the upcoming season, with further growth forecast in subsequent years. These additional funds will be channelled into support programmes for grassroots, amateur and youth football.
Likewise, income from the sale of audiovisual rights for the Supercopa de España, staged in Saudi Arabia, is set to rise to €12.7 million.
Sponsorship revenue will also increase significantly, driven by a higher hosting fee for the Copa del Rey final, improvements to existing sponsorship agreements and the addition of new partners. In total, sponsorship income is projected to reach €89.1 million.
As a result, combined revenues from audiovisual rights and sponsorships will exceed €200 million.
Financial support programmes for clubs competing in national competitions will amount to €87.0 million, representing an increase of €7.5 million compared to 2025. This rise is mainly attributable to new funding aimed at the development of youth academies and scouting structures, as well as a €1.2 million increase in support for futsal.
Meanwhile, grants to regional football associations will increase by €8.5 million, reaching a total of €40.3 million.
Finally, the 2026 investment budget includes, among other projects, funding for infrastructure, the Modernisation Plan of the Ciudad del Fútbol, investment in information and communication technologies, and the construction of a new building.
