RFEF Holds Meeting of Regional Federation Presidents in Valladolid
RFEF President Rafael Louzán welcomed attendees to the meeting, expressing his wish for such institutional gatherings to take place in the various Spanish cities hosting national team fixtures: “Today’s photograph is a historic one.”
The headquarters of the Royal Football Federation of Castile and León (RFCyLF), located in the Valladolid municipality of Arroyo de la Encomienda, hosted on Monday the meeting of presidents of the regional football federations, held on the eve of Spain’s World Cup qualifying match against Bulgaria.
The event was described as “historic” by RFEF President Rafael Louzán, who extended his greetings to the regional leaders and reaffirmed his intention to make use of the Spanish national team’s travels to hold similar meetings in different cities across the country. He also reviewed the institutional agenda planned in Valladolid, which includes a visit to the City Hall scheduled for Tuesday morning.
Louzán offered special thanks to Marcelino Maté, President of the Royal Football Federation of Castile and León, for hosting the meeting and for the efforts made by his team, together with the Valladolid City Council, to facilitate the return of the Spanish national team to the city — two years after its last visit, which marked the centenary of the RFCyLF.
The session addressed a range of topics, including financial and asset management across the various regional federations, as well as competition-related matters. The meeting began with an official group photograph of all the presidents gathered in front of the main entrance to the Castile and León federation’s headquarters.
