RFEF welcomes MAPFRE as new main sponsor of the Spanish national football team
RFEF President Rafael Louzán and Elena Sanz, CEO of MAPFRE Iberia, formalised the partnership on Tuesday at the Ciudad del Fútbol. The Spanish company, already title sponsor of the Copa del Rey, will now serve as the official insurer of La Roja through 2030.
Just two days before Spain begins its qualifying journey in Bulgaria for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the national team has strengthened its line-up off the pitch by adding MAPFRE as a principal partner.
Under the agreement signed at the Ciudad del Fútbol, MAPFRE becomes the official insurer of Spain’s senior men’s and women’s teams, as well as the under-21 side. Beginning this September, the MAPFRE brand will appear on training kits, pitches, and official facilities, reinforcing its visibility and commitment to Spanish football.
RFEF President Rafael Louzán emphasised the significance of the alliance: “This agreement demonstrates the strength of our national teams and the confidence placed in the Federation as the global representative of Spanish football.”
Elena Sanz, CEO of MAPFRE Iberia, highlighted the broader impact of the sponsorship: “For MAPFRE, this partnership not only strengthens our commitment to Spanish sport and to the RFEF, but also positions us alongside football—a source of passion, identity, and shared values for millions of people.”
The sponsorship ensures MAPFRE’s presence alongside the Spanish national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, offering the insurer a unique platform to strengthen its international presence and connect with football fans worldwide.
The agreement, signed by the RFEF’s Commercial Development Department under the leadership of Ramón Plaza, will run until 2030. That year, Spain will serve as the principal host nation of the FIFA World Cup, a centenary edition of historic sporting and media significance.
This partnership also comes at a moment of momentum for Spanish football: the women’s national team are reigning world champions, the men’s side are European champions, and the under-21s are embarking on a new cycle with the continental title as their main target.
Founded more than 90 years ago, MAPFRE is today the leading Spanish insurer worldwide. It serves 7.4 million customers, employs around 11,000 people in Spain, and operates more than 3,000 offices across the country.
