Spain completed their final training session at Laugardalsvöllur Stadium, where they will face Iceland tomorrow in the sixth and final matchday of the qualifying campaign for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 local time (21:00 CEST, live on La 2).

At 11:30 a.m., the players took to the pitch under the guidance of Sonia Bermúdez and her coaching staff for the final preparations ahead of the decisive encounter with Thorsteinn Halldórsson’s side. Direct qualification for next year’s World Cup depends on victory over Iceland, following Spain’s emphatic win against England, which saw them reclaim top spot in the group.

The ambition of defending the world title won in Australia and New Zealand in 2023 now hinges on securing the three points on offer tomorrow. With that objective firmly in mind, the players trained with focus, determination and full awareness of the significance of the challenge that awaits them against the Icelandic side.

The session lasted for more than an hour and fifteen minutes and was conducted at a high intensity, with technical and tactical work taking centre stage as the coaching staff put the finishing touches on preparations ahead of the decisive fixture.
