Seville, the final stop of the year
The flight carrying the Spanish National Team from Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, landed punctually at 20:00 at Seville–San Pablo International Airport.
After a journey of just over six hours, Spain is now resting at its team hotel ahead of Tuesday’s decisive match against Türkiye, in which they will seek mathematical qualification for the World Cup taking place next June and July in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Luis de la Fuente’s team has had a flawless qualifying campaign so far, leading the group with a perfect record, 19 goals scored and none conceded. Spain currently has 15 points, followed by Türkiye with 12. Georgia, with three, and Bulgaria, still without points, close the standings in Group E.
Against Turkey, Spain holds every advantage to secure its ticket to the 2026 World Cup. Any result other than a defeat by seven goals or more will confirm qualification.
La Cartuja, which will once again rally behind the national side, will host Spain’s final match of an outstanding 2025 — a year in which the team has not had to use the verb "to lose" and reached the final of the UEFA Nations League. Against Georgia, Spain recorded its 30th consecutive official match without defeat, further cementing the legacy of this remarkable group of players.
