Spain Consolidate Their Lead at the Top of the FIFA Rankings
The team coached by Sonia Bermúdez continue their unstoppable march towards Brazil 2027. Following their victory in the first international friendly (0–2) and a draw in the second encounter against the United States (2–2), Spain have strengthened their position at the top of the FIFA Women’s World Ranking.
The United States remain in second place, with Germany, England, Japan, France, Brazil, Sweden, Canada and Denmark completing the world’s top 10.
Spain have now spent 685 days at the top of the rankings, a position they first reached after being crowned world champions in 2023.
Spain will return to action from 24 November to 5 December, playing their final matches of 2026 ahead of the draw for the World Cup final tournament, which will take place at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro on Friday, 11 December.
