The Baylor School facilities opened their doors at 3:30 p.m., two and a half hours before the start of training, allowing fans and accredited media to take their positions ahead of Spain’s open session.

Before the session began, Baylor School Director Chris Angel, wearing the national team’s home kit, formally welcomed both the Spanish delegation and the spectators in attendance. Angel expressed his enthusiasm at hosting Spain at the school’s facilities and thanked the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for placing its trust in the venue.

He was followed by Aitor Karanka, RFEF Technical Director for Development and Men’s Senior National Team Coordinator, who extended his gratitude to Baylor School and the city of Chattanooga for the warm reception received since the team’s arrival.

Finally, Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly and Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp—both wearing Spain’s red jersey—echoed those sentiments and wished the national team success in the FIFA World Cup. Tim Kelly also addressed the crowd in Spanish, stating: “It is an honour for Chattanooga to have Spain in our city; you will always be in our hearts,” before concluding with “¡Vamos, España!”, which was met with a unanimous ovation from the supporters.

Moments later, as the players stepped onto the pitch, the stands erupted in excitement as fans caught their first close-up glimpse of the squad. More than a thousand spectators filled the main stand of the complex to witness an open training session for the public and media, further strengthening the bond between the Spanish National Team and the city of Chattanooga at the start of this World Cup journey.

At the conclusion of the session, the players approached the fans to take photographs, sign autographs, and share their best wishes ahead of the tournament. The team will complete one final training session before travelling to Puebla, where they will face Peru.
