Before taking to the pitch for the final training session at the stadium, the Spain head coach shared her thoughts on the upcoming encounter, just over 24 hours before kick-off.

Bermúdez began by congratulating Spain’s U-19 side on their recent victory in Round 2, before reflecting on the significance of the venue:

“It’s my first time here. It’s spectacular. Tomorrow it will be full — it’s a beautiful stadium. Hopefully we can take the three points. These are the kind of matches players are more than ready for and eager to experience.”

On the stature of the fixture, she added:

“Without doubt, it’s one of those games every player wants to play. It’s becoming a classic. It will be decided by small details, and hopefully we can come away with the win.”

Regarding the pitch conditions, Bermúdez was confident:

“I haven’t been out on it yet, but it looks in excellent condition. It’s clearly very well maintained — there are no excuses. It’s a motivation. These are the matches every player wants to be involved in.”

Looking ahead to the opposition, she highlighted England’s strengths and the challenge of playing away:

“They’ll have the support of their home crowd — it’s their stadium. Spain have not won here yet, and we hope that changes tomorrow. It’s three important points, though not decisive. We expect them to start strongly, with long spells of possession.”

Spain will face England on Tuesday evening as both sides look to strengthen their position in the race for qualification to the 2027 World Cup.
