The players under Luis de la Fuente completed their final training session today, on the eve of tomorrow’s crucial match against Georgia. Spain will seek to secure their mathematical qualification for the 2026 World Cup at the Boris Paichadze National Stadium.
To achieve this, Spain must earn all three points against Georgia and hope for a slip-up from Turkey, who play Bulgaria at the same time. Should that combination of results not occur, Spain would still depend on themselves to secure their World Cup berth in Tuesday’s match against Turkey at La Cartuja. The match will be played this Saturday at 18:00 (Spanish peninsular time, three hours later in Georgia).
