International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate, recognise and promote female talent across every field — including football. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has carried out a series of initiatives this week to mark the occasion, beginning in the days leading up to the Spanish national team’s match on 3 March in Castellón.

This Sunday, to coincide with March 8, eight women connected to the world of football share eight messages encouraging others to play without fear, choose their own path, believe in themselves, turn talent into confidence and lead with determination.

The participants featured in the initiative are Mariona Caldentey, senior international; Fiamma Benítez, U-20 World Cup champion; Olatz Rivera, FIFA referee; Sonia Bermúdez, Spain head coach; Reyes Bellver, RFEF Director of Women’s Football; June González, player for CFF Olympia Las Rozas; Blanca Romero, national team fitness coach; and Ana Esteban, a football-playing mother. Together, they share powerful messages on a day of special significance.

The video aims to spread this message to women everywhere, amplified by the energy and inspiration of the new generations of footballers.

A message of equality through football

Under the slogan “Dream Without Limits,” the campaign seeks to promote the values of sport and a firm commitment to equal opportunities both on and off the pitch. It also serves as a tribute to all the women who are part of football — and to those who dream of becoming part of it — reminding them that there are no limits when passion and determination guide every step.
