As has become customary in recent seasons, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, through its president Rafael Louzán, presented the trophy to the winners of Spain’s top division at the club’s first opportunity to celebrate the achievement in front of their home supporters.

That occasion came on Sunday, 10 May, following FC Barcelona’s 2–0 victory over Real Madrid CF, a result that mathematically secured the LALIGA EA Sports title for the Catalan club with three matches still remaining in the season.

Goals from England international Marcus Rashford and Spanish international Ferran Torres sparked scenes of celebration among the Barcelona faithful, who were then able to witness captain Ronald Araújo receive the trophy from RFEF president Rafael Louzán and LALIGA president Javier Tebas.

Also participating in the trophy presentation ceremony were Joan Soteras, president of the Catalan Football Federation, alongside FC Barcelona’s president-elect and acting president Rafael Yuste.

The league title won by FC Barcelona represents the club’s 29th Spanish league championship since the competition was founded 97 years ago. It also further strengthens Barcelona’s position as the most successful club in Spanish football during the 21st century, with a total of 13 First Division titles, including the last two won consecutively by the Catalan side.
