The president of the RFEF presents the Second Division trophy to Levante UD

This Sunday evening, 1st June, will go down in the history of Levante UD, who, after securing promotion last week, have managed to end the season as champions of the second tier of Spanish football.

A penalty scored by defender Adrián de la Fuente Dela during the final stages of the match secured three points for Julián Calero’s side in front of the euphoric home fans, who filled the stands of the Ciutat de València stadium and were able to share in the joy of winning the title with their players.

It fell to the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation to present the trophy to Levante captain Vicente Iborra, accompanied in the ceremony by the Mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, the president of the Valencian Community Football Federation, Salvador Gomar, the Government Delegate in Valencia, Pilar Bernabé, and the top official at Levante UD, Pablo Sánchez.

Fireworks brought a spectacular close to the celebrations on the pitch and to a dream season for the centenary club, who will play in the top flight of Spanish football next season.
