Aitana Bonmatí flowing towards greatness
According to Bruce Lee's famous saying; water is unstoppable because of its adaptability, as it can either flow or it can strike. As an admirer of the oriental way of life, Aitana Bonmatí is demonstrating both qualities during this World Cup.
"I'm a person who demands a lot of myself, but when I enjoy myself most on the pitch is precisely when my mind is clear, when I don't think and just go with the flow of the game". The player from San Pedro de Ribas, with her fluid style of play, has made her mark by winning the player of the match award in her first start in a World Cup match.
Aitana, along with the rest of her teammates, now faces the decisive match against Japan, "a team I have a lot of respect for, who play spectacular football and who we share a similar style with".
Still with the bitter and sobering memory of the U-20 World Cup final against Japan five years ago, Bonmatí is having "my best season as a professional footballer" and now wants to prove it on the global stage while playing down under.
"We have to dream big because we have come on a lot over the last few years and now it's time to show it in a major competition", concludes the ever outspoken Spanish international.
