"It’s a special moment for everyone," began Rodrigo in his speech to the players and technical staff, introducing his teammates being honoured. Carvajal then addressed the group, saying, "I’m very happy to be with you because you all know what playing for the national team means to me. I hope I can play many more matches."
Last Wednesday marked exactly ten years since Dani Carvajal made his debut for the senior team, with whom he has won Euro 2024 and the UEFA Nations League in 2023.
Following the post-match dinner after the game against Switzerland in Geneva, the Andalusian player Fabián Ruiz was also presented with his commemorative badge for reaching 25 caps for Spain, a milestone he reached during the recent European championships in Germany. In addition, Catalan Óscar Mingueza received his badge to mark his debut under Luis de la Fuente during what has been his first appearance in a senior national team squad.
