David García, the second international to debut this season
Luis de la Fuente's new eleven presented on the pitch at Hampden Park, compared to the one that beat Norway in Malaga last week, included a player who wore the national team jersey for the first time on March 28th.
David García Zubiría made his debut with the national team, starting at right centre-back in a match that ended in a Scottish victory. The defender played the entire game, putting in an outstanding performance.
He was born 29 years ago in the Navarrese town of Ibero, David García becomes, after Joselu, the second debutant of the year in the national team, the first to do so with Luis de la Fuente at the helm without having played before in any other category in Spain.
This is great news for the Club Atlético Osasuna defender, who will be back in Spain this Tuesday with the rest of his teammates, already with an international debut on his CV.
