The victory over England in the final of the European Championships at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin is now part of footballing history.

Goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal gave Spain their fourth continental crown and also marked the seventh successive victory for Luis de la Fuente's side.

As such, the coach from La Rioja surpasses the feat of the unforgettable World Cup in South Africa, in which Spain, after losing to Switzerland in the opener, stringed together half a dozen victories against Honduras, Chile, Portugal, Paraguay, Germany and in extra time against the Netherlands to win their World Cup winners’ star.

At this year's continental tournament, Spain have notched an unprecedented record number of wins and have also broken their all-time record for goals in a finals, scoring 15 times during the tournament.
