Pontevedra CF eliminate Levante UD to go through to the Second Round (4-1)

Pontevedra CF progress to the Second Round of the Copa del Rey Mapfre after beating Levante UD. On paper, the Galicians were at a disadvantage as they are a team that plays two categories below their opponents. However, the higher ranked team were reduced to ten men early on after Navarro was sent off. In the first half, Pontevedra CF took the lead with a goal from Héctor Hernández. In the second half, as fatigue took its toll, Javi Fontán scored again for the home side. Morales managed to pull a goal back, but in stoppage time Chiqui and Yelko Pino added the third and fourth goals and Pontevedra CF secured their place in the next round of the Copa del Rey.

Only three more qualifiers remain to be decided. On Friday, FC Jove Español and Real Sociedad de Fútbol are set to face each other (21:00), with CP Parla Escuela - Valencia CF and Manises CF - Getafe CF scheduled for Tuesday next week.
