Hundreds of fans turn out in Badajoz to welcome Spain squad
At a couple minutes to seven o'clock on Tuesday evening, Spanish peninsular time, the Spain squad’s Iberia plane carrying the national team players landed at Badajoz airport after a fifty minute flight from Madrid.
The players and coaching staff were greeted with the applause of hundreds of expectant fans who were then given the chance to take photos and get autographs with their Spain international idols.
This Tuesday evening, national coach Luis de la Fuente and defender Marc Cucurella are due hold a press conference at the Nuevo Vivero stadium, the venue for Wednesday's pre-tournament warm-up match against Andorra.
Refereed by Portuguese referee Gustavo Correia and broadcast live on La1, Spain play their Iberian neighbours in their first warm-up match for Euro 2024, which will be followed by another encounter on 8 June against Northern Ireland in Palma. All this to get ready for the tournament opener, on Saturday 15 June against Croatia at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
