Irene Paredes receives the RFEF's gold medal for her 100th cap
The president of the Management Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Pedro Rocha, presented Irene Paredes with the RFEF gold medal for reaching 100 matches wearing the Spanish national team shirt. She joins the select hundred cap club in which until now only Alexia Putellas and Jenni Hermoso were included.
The Spain captain became a centurion in the UEFA Women's Nations League match against Italy. Since the World Cup, it has been customary to present commemorative badges to debutants and players who reach milestone numbers of caps, as in this case. This afternoon, the player will have the opportunity to continue adding to her number of caps. Irene has set herself the short-term goal of "qualifying for the Olympic Games and going all out for glory". Now the team are one step closer to the goal than ever before.
