Their two goals with time running out lifted the Ciutat de València stadium from their seats and the quality in the team's boots, showed the essence and grit of this team, its strength, its fight and never say die attitude.

After 77 minutes of laying siege on the Belgian goal yet with the 0-2 down on the scoreboard, Claudia Pina's goal arrived. There was still time, the team knew it and the Monterrey Femenil and Sport Lisboa e Benfica forwards showed it. They only needed four minutes, four minutes of total madness. So mad were the final moments that when the match was over we spoke to both of them to find out if they knew, amidst all the excitement and final flurry, how each of the goals had gone in. But with a little catch, they didn't have to describe their own goal, but that of their teammate...

Martín-Prieto saw Lucía's goal from behind, ‘we were both running, I was behind in case Salma didn't connect with her ball, but she connected very well. I couldn't really see how she hit it’ to which Lucía added: “I hit it with everything I had, it went in and we were super happy, it was the 91st minute”.

The last goal, 3-2, scored by the Sevillian striker, was described by her team-mate: ‘I think there three or four of us in the box, maybe more, and I think Salma tried to take a shot, Cristina was there, it was her job, she was there and she scored it’ while Martín-Prieto assured that ‘the city of Valencia willed that ball in, it had to go in, I only had to finish it’.

The strikers are always hungry to score, and both made the most of their opportunities on the pitch, and in Cristina's case, it's a sweet moment: ‘When you come off the bench what you want is to contribute, with passes, with good play, we are strikers and I wanted my goal, it's my thing, and the fact that it gave us the win makes me very happy’.

If there was one thing the epic comeback against the Red Flames made clear, it was the unity and the great atmosphere among the stars on the pitch, as Lucía said at the end of the first game: ‘The last goal reflects what we are, you can see that we are a family on the pitch, and we are very happy to get these three points that give us first place, basically...’.

Thanks to their goals, Spain staged an epic comeback against Belgium to move top of Group A3 and claim the first three points of the UEFA Women's Nations League qualifying campaign.
