Luis de la Fuente: "The group couldn't be more demanding".

The Spanish national team coach talks over the outcome of the UEFA Nations League group stage draw that has paired Spain with Denmark, Switzerland and Serbia.

Luis de la Fuente knows this competition very well. After all, with him at the helm, Spain won last year's Final Four and lifted the UEFA Nations League title for the first time in their history. Spain beat Italy 2-1 in the semi-finals and Croatia in a tight final that was decided from the penalty spot.

The national team coach has assessed Group A4, in which Spain will be seeded: "It is a privilege to be among the 16 best teams in Europe and an honour to lead the Spanish national team in such an important competition. Spain will face Denmark, Switzerland and Serbia in the opening phase of the tournament, which Spain hopes to win again on 8 June 2025: "Our opponents are all very difficult. We are among the 16 best teams in Europe here and we want to be able to overcome the challenges the other teams are going to pose to us, which will be as tough as it gets".

Similarly, the coach warned that "it's not going to be easy. At this stage it's very difficult to beat any opponent and we're going to have to be at our best if we want to go far once again".

The national team will face three of the best 16 teams in Europe, Luis de la Fuente has put special emphasis on "respecting all the teams to the maximum" as the formula to help them continue advancing to the latter rounds of the Nations League: "we have to go game by game and overcome very complicated opponents," concluded the coach.
