Luis Rubiales presents Cata Coll with the RFEF gold badge for her debut with the national team

The international goalkeeper defended Spain's goal in the historic World Cup victory against Switzerland

The memorable victory on Saturday at Eden Park Stadium in Auckland against Switzerland marked a historic achievement for the national team, qualifying for the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time.

Adding to this collective milestone, goalkeeper Cata Coll celebrated her individual achievement as she made her debut with the Women's National Team, delivering an outstanding performance against the Swiss team.

In recognition of her achievement, the President of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, awarded the Mallorcan footballer the RFEF gold badge during the post-match dinner. Also in attendance were the head of the National Women's Football Committee, Rafael del Amo, and the national team coach, Jorge Vilda.

Strongly applauded by her teammates, Cata Coll expressed her gratitude for the distinction, stating, "I feel very happy to be here at the World Cup and to play my first match with the National Team. I'm sure we'll be here for another fifteen days," referring to Spain's promising future in the competition.
