From Valencia, the city that suffered the destruction of the storms last October, Luis de la Fuente announced his squad list for the double-header against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League. It was a special announcement, as it was announced by four players from the towns that suffered the most from the tragic events late last year.

From the Puente de la Solidaridad, the footbridge that links the city of Valencia with the villages on the other side of the River Turia, the national coach gave four players the chance to reveal the squad for the two-legged clash.

Jorge Greus, goalkeeper for Paiporta Club de Fútbol, David Serra, centre-back for Unió Benetússer Favara, Mario García, midfielder for Unión Deportiva Aldaia and Jorge Monforte, striker for Catarroja CF were the stars of the show announcing the 27 players selected for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League.

The matches represent the first international call up of the year 2025 and present a great challenge for our National team. The fact is that getting through this stage would put Spain in the final four of the Nations League. The first match against the Netherlands will take place on 20 March in Rotterdam and the second on Sunday 23 March in Valencia, both at 20:45 (Spanish peninsular time).
