Ona Batlle: "We have the desire and ambition to win it all"

The Spain international assesses team's form two days before UEFA Women's Nations League final

Goalscorer and POTM of the UEFA Women's Nations League semi-final against the Netherlands, Ona Batlle, spoke to the media this afternoon after Spain's final training session in Madrid ahead of tomorrow's trip to Seville.

The Catalan said the team were "looking forward to another final" and to achieving something unprecedented for the Spanish women's team. She also asserts that the match against France "will be a great occasion in what will be a hard-fought game against a top quality opponent".

On the subject of qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the world champion admits: "It's something that everyone dreams of. It's something very nice that we have to enjoy". Ona also acknowledged that she is in "very good form and at a happy moment in my life", which is helping her to perform at her best.

The Spain international also spoke of how quickly the world of football moves on: "We've only just qualified and now we're thinking about winning the title. We have to enjoy everything we are doing, but in football everything happens very quickly.

On Wednesday 28 February at 19:00, the Estadio de La Cartuja will host Spain's next date with destiny. France are their opponents in this final: "We have the excitement and the ambition to win it all, but we don't feel any extra pressure.

As for Vicky López, who made her debut against the Netherlands, Ona Batlle says: "Everyone is very happy with her and she has adapted very well to the national team's style of play. We decided to wait until this special day to give her her debut".
